Who We Are

We are Schimke Salvage and Sales, a veteran-owned demolition and salvage company serving Vincennes, IN. Our crew brings more than 30 years of hands-on demolition and salvage work, along with 6 years of military background. We built this business on a simple idea: environment first, before profit. That means we recover reusable materials whenever we can instead of sending everything to a landfill.

We handle barn demolition for old, damaged, or unwanted structures, taking down the frame safely and preserving salvageable wood along the way. We take on garage demolition and larger building demolition for residential, commercial, and agricultural properties, from careful planning through teardown, debris hauling, and final site cleanup. When a structure sits vacant and unsafe, our abandoned property demolition clears the neglected site and prepares it for redevelopment. We also offer quality wood materials for home interiors and exteriors, pulled from the barns and buildings we take down.

Salvage is a big part of what we do. Our refrigerator salvage service covers pickup, proper handling of recyclable components, and safe refrigerant removal. We are EPA-certified for level 1 freon and refrigerant extraction, so regulated cooling substances are recovered properly before disposal or recycling. Our metal salvage service collects scrap metal from barns, buildings, and appliances, keeping reusable material out of the waste stream. We service both residential and business needs for material pickup.

We offer free estimates on demolition of barns, garages, abandoned homes, and businesses, plus free pickup of scrap materials and appliances. Our crew picks up appliances on our schedule within a reasonable time, and same-day pickup is available for a fee depending on location.
